Bhairavar Jayanthi

Started our journey around 07.00 a.m.

Thombarampedu Bairavar

It is 2 kms before Uthukottai and a very very tiny and beautiful village. The temple is on a very small hill, some 50 steps.

Moolavar Bairavar is small, around 3 ft high. When we went, the entire village was celebrating the Jayanthi. In front of every house, colourful kolams, everywhere you could find annadhanams, giving cool drinks etc., A good number of people where having “parivattam” too. People were saying, evening they will have huge gathering, around 2-3 lacs. It was very nice to see a “thiruvuzha atmosphere” after a long time with blarring outspeakers, children running here and there, people eating everywhere etc.,

Ramagiri Bairavar

The bairavar here is called “Santhana Bairavar”.
Sthala Puranam is attached herewith. Beautiful village. On the way, you can find the huge mountain itself as huge Shivalingam.

Vedanarayana perumal

It is on the way from Ramagiri. Either we can go to Ramagiri first then VN perumal or vice versa. Big temple built by Vijayanagara kings. Perumal in Matsyavatar. One important aspect in this temple is, every year in the month of March 27,28 & 29 Sun rays passes through the gopuram and fall on the main deity. Temple sharply closes at 12 noon and we were lucky to be at 11.45 a.m.

Surutapalli Pallikondeswarar

Everywhere we can find Lord Shiva in Linga or other poses but we can find here in Ananthasayana pose. After swallowing Alahala poison, he felt dizzy and relaxing in Parvathi’s lap. As per legend, Pradosham started here.
All the above temples are in the same route.
